It was dishonest manipulation, not posted as entertainment. It occurred here, but also here: https://gayspeak.com/showthread.php?p=517590#post517590 The other posting of it is clearly in the Help and Advice forum, not the "read my good porn story and jerk off" forum. And, the blurring of the line is unwelcome to many. Men share their real lives in the advice forum. Whenever someone uses it just to mock the real lives shared there, it degrades the degree of trust both posters and readers put into that forum. s There's nothing wrong with fiction, but it shouldn't be shared in a forum where real heartaches and struggles are the intent. Blowing it off with "well, what's the harm" is just sticking one's head in the sand.

So how many times did you cum to this story? Sticky keyboards are nasty.

Not hot. Rape scenarios are not so much of a turn-on.

I'm still not getting the disconnect between the two narratives.....in one it seems as though it was apparently a non-consensual experience that comes with a warning and in the other narrative....the poster implies that it was a turn-on.
I can understand a bit of ambivalence....but the tale as told here is more like 100 days of Sodom while on the other board.....more like the Hardy Boys have a party. And it is receptacle , not receptical. Am I the only one who finds misspelling in porno tales a boner killer?

Spelling on a forum is like the volume button on porn. It just doesn't work in either case unless you mute it.
My only consolation is that when I quote them, I can at least correct the dumb stuff there. Presently, in my state, there is a growing uproar about the increasing role of standardized testing. As the internet proves ad nauseum, the schools and the society they obey are continuing the downward spiral, unable to teach simple mastery of vocabulary and spelling, much less grammar and syntax. Sadly, I can't say that corporate heads are necessarily paragons either. My vice president over my division was a PE major and his emails read like texting, in addition to gross errors. It represents a phase shift in society. When one's social and career success depended upon language mastery, it was learned. When wealth and status became possible without the merits of clear thought and expression, those pursuing education for only materialism bailed, plain and simple.

Hardheaded1 Wrote:Spelling on a forum is like the volume button on porn. It just doesn't work in either case unless you mute it. Valid points and for the most part reasonable, so I apologize for my fun in it. I don't think the intent was to disrespect or push buttons...though that was clearly the result here. I can imagine myself being hypersensitive under the right circumstances so I understand your points. It clearly would be better to follow common rules/discipline in forum posting for the most part; however, I think in this case it would have minimized the effect of the OP's intent. I suppose this could make it even more offensive...if I were more sensitive to it. Cultural differences come into play as well, especially regarding age/maturity. So hope it's a better day beyond this thread!!

Sorry to wax unduly sober, but we are still at the stage that lives are changed by what not-yet-out gay men read on forums.
Many men are yet in the hinterlands, with little or no support for the issues that are unique to gay men in a society that is ambivalent about true equal rights. "That's gay" is still used ubiquitously, reminding all that "gay" is goofy, lesser, odd, and not cool. When a joker sets up some fantasy story, it just eats away at anyone out there lurking, who was about to post his true account of date rape. This forum already suffers from low attendance and sparse posting. It really doesn't need one more reason for newcomers to stay away.

This forum is much more than what you propose to prioritize though I do agree with the premise. I was not aware of any low attendance and sparse posting however. Do you base that observation on your experience elsewhere?
