Ignored by a family friend

True, especially if you have someone with you when you see her, so they can see what a biotch she is, or to watch her squirm and pretend to be nice.Popcorn

As much as I'd love to push her under a bus, I'm not really into confrontation. I think I'll stick with continuing to say hi if I see her but with a knowing smile.

Sorry for the above double post. The first one didn't appear then both showed at once and I couldn't see how to delete one. Thanks for all the support.

Don't let her live rent free in your head. Forget about trying to be nice to a bigot.

Don't even give her that much, just pretend she's invisible. If you keep speaking to her she's going to think you're needy for her friendship, and there's no sense in making her head swell. It doesn't take confrontation to bring someone down a notch.

I agree with the others that say ignoring her is probably the best bet.

That said? There are a few other options that I'd be entertaining if I were in your shoes, depending on my mood and how I feel about the woman. If I'm feeling somewhat ornery toward her, there's a chance I might...

1) The smile technique mentioned earlier in this thread. This is excellent as long as the person in question isn't SO bound up in their hatred and homophobia that they begin to lash out as a response.

2) Start being SUPER nice to her. Don't -let- her ignore you. Really push to be friendly, up beat and kind -any time- she's around or near. Push your focus her way. THIS, of course, should have the same cautionary warning as #1 .
