height difference in relationships
#51
Lexington Wrote:We joke a lot, but never about height. Not because it's a sore spot or anything - it just never really developed along those lines. The only two things I can think of are these:

* When he's cooking, and needs something from the high shelves in the kitchen, he says "Lex! Come be tall for me." I have orangutang arms in addition to being taller, so I can reach most of the stuff there.

* We're not much into PDAs, but when we want to give each other one, or just a quick affirmation of love at home, he stands near me, and I kiss his forehead. Because that's what level he's at, and it means no bending up or down for either of us. Smile

^^^^ yeah I get the high cabinet/shelf duty too. As for the PDAs Jay will wave his fingers for me to shrink down to his size, sometimes for a quick smooch and then sometimes for one on my forehead. I catch him off guard when we're in the shower while he's washing his hair and grab him to use his soapy head for an armpit mop. Most of our close friends know Jay's being bossy to me is all part of our playing and I always act like a spoiled brat when he does it He tells people to excuse my behavior because it's from high altitude attitude. I call him Nappy, short for Napoleon about anytime he asks me to reach high for something. We joke about it all the time.

On a teen/young adult LGBTQ site that I work on, somebody ran a poll. The number of gay guys who said they wanted a taller partner? 95%.. A large number said they'd refuse to date a guy who wasn't at least a certain height, even if he was compatible in every other way. One guy bemoaned the fact that he desperately wanted a taller boyfriend, but since he was 6'4" he was doomed to always be the taller one.

In short (tee hee!), it looks like young gay guys ARE size queens - just not in the way we expected. Smile One assumes many of them outgrow this as they get older. Lex

I know that's the truth. I still have a "thing" about guys taller than me which are rare. I have a whole folder of bookmarks and a few pages in a notebook of guys in sports and entertainment who are over 6'6". I even did a thread about them with pics back months ago. But I have to admit that shorter guys are the ones with the most symmetrical builds and almost always the sexiest shoulders and chests. Also Jay cuts me a lot of slack about flirting with shorter guys but it's always just in fun. Short guys who like to pick on tall guys are always fun to hang out with. I always pick right back. We have a real cute military friend who's short who's about quit picking on me since I always lift him up off his feet and swing him by one foot and one arm like a county fair plane ride.

That's a joke, btw. Tall people intimidate me. I want someone short, like me, and really handsome. In short, I want someone who's too good for me, which shouldn't be too difficult. There's bound to be loads of boys with low self-esteem who I can seduce.

Ummm push around? subjugate? Buddy my short guy does that a lot and I love it! hahahaha! And there are lots of guys like you who are uncomfortable around tall guys. When we go out I always end up talking to them more than taller guys. I don't know why. It always turns out fun. It's weird for me that the only time I really am aware how much taller I am than Jay is when I see our reflections in store windows when we walk past them. It's always an eye opener for me when it happens and makes me aware of why people gawk at us sometimes.
