Feel like no one likes me at times.

Did you read the rest of the post? Every Sunday. As I said in an earlier post on this thread - I'm incredibly lucky because I've made friends with some amazing people. This gay couple, every Sunday they just sort of open their house to friends, friends of friends, etc. There's always plenty of food, usually a game on, guys bring wives or girlfriends (or the occasional bf), lots of kids running around. When I said once I needed to spend some time with my mom, the response was, Bring her. During the week, most of my free time is caught up in family issues just now. My mom is a widow with 3 kids still at home, and she sometimes needs support. I escaped lol. Living alone is obviously a huge expense, but it preserves my mental health. And yeah, with all of this I don't date much right now, but again, I'M 22 and a year of my life spent working toward a goal is not a lot to give up.

I stopped taking Sunday shifts a few months ago because I really need this respite from the daily madness. You asked about old, new, potential friends - I guess at one time or another, this group is all of that.

Let me make it clear that I don't work these hours because I'm driven or obsessed with career. I'm 22, if I stay at the EMT level, I'll have to keep up the overtime, Which is why I'm in school training as a paramedic in the middle of all this. The insanity is time limited. I finish in December, I'll get accredited in January - and then, much better pay and normal hours. I haven't done student loans because I plan to go to nursing school in a few years and I'll need them then.

Going to school, working 48 - 56 hours a week, is NOT my forever lifestyle. It's one year at a time in my life when I can do it.

Humans can survive on nearly no sleep. But then it gets weird after a few days.

Gemini be careful how you think about sleep.

Many many years I survived on 3-6hours a night. Over commiting and under sleeping can do damage. It's OK when you are young, but as you get older, listen to your body Wink

deephiance - lol actually, it's not so great when you're young, either. However, approximately 2 more months and The Year From Hell will be over!! And then I can curl up with Miranda the Cat and (GASP!) SLEEEEEP.........Cat3Sleeping

True! We like him so much we took over his thread!

I think he's gonna make some new friends at work. That's my prediction.
