General Question
#1
Hi all,

I have kind of a stupid question. If I say "I'm gay." does that mean that I'm saying I'm just attracted to guys? Or, is "gay" a term that covers everyone that is LGBTQI, etc.? I think I'm some variety of bi, but am not sure if I can say I'm gay then.

Such troubles....

Thanks,

M

Pansexual I guess?

But then don't label yourself.
You're just you and you're attracted to anyone you like.
Problem solved.

Gay means you're a guy and you like other men. Or, that you're happy. It has never meant that you are LGBTQWIAHDKAYEAJN or whatever letters have been appended to it (ridiculous, if you asked me).

Gay does not mean bi. Gay does not mean trans. Or anything outside being a homosexual man, really. You can just say you're a homosexual, if you don't like the term gay or think it's ambiguous.

Queer, is the term that has a more ambiguous meaning, and could mean anything from a a homosexual man to transsexuals or transvestites. If you said to me you were queer, I would have no idea what exactly you meant by that. Saying being gay is unambiguous.
''Do I look civilized to you?''

To me, gay means being exclusively attracted to your own sex.
