A very odd film called "A Matter of Life and Death" Part of AMC's 31 days of Oscar. The film did not receive an Oscar, but the photographer was given an honorary lifetime achievement award a few years ago.
The 1946 British film "Stairway to Heaven" (British title: "A Matter of Life or Death") was made to rejuvenate Anglo-American friendship by reminding Americans of the World War II alliance. Britain was trying to obtain U.S. foreign aid to rebuild after suffering substantial wartime damage. The film was made before the Marshall Plan came along to provide such aid. In the 1940s, many Americans still viewed Britain suspiciously as imperialistic and the center of world financial domination.

Just watched "Frances" because I found it on DVD finally....true story of Frances Farmer starring Jessica Lange who I have a huge crush on. Very powerful film and relevant to anyone who's parents have an idea of who you SHOULD be and try to force the issue and ignore who you are. I love this movie.

i liked the title:
"Walk a Mile in My Pradas" imdb myself I thought the picture they drew of the gay partners when they were together could be accurate. storyline Not too old a movie (2011. Tony Parisi is a real "man's man" and all around "good guy". He works hard at his job. He's a loyal friend. And, he's devoted to his fiancé. He also happens to be completely, and utterly homophobic. Tony takes great pleasure in ridiculing his new, gay co-worker, Steve. That is until fate and a magic Christmas ornament step in to teach him a lesson. Two weeks before his wedding, Tony finds that he is suddenly gay, while Steve learns he has mysteriously turned straight. Now, truly a man's man, Tony must scramble to straighten out in time for his wedding. But, not before he walks a mile in Steve's shoes.
