ETOTE Wrote:TY East.

Been wanting to see that and today is Tues and payday for me.

Theatre by my house has all movies for $5 all day, now I know what to do with my day off and what to see. woo hoo. I want to see the walking whore get sucked up by a tornado.

Isn't it suppose to be based on actual events or something?

Not really on actual events but they use the premise of natural disasters being the "worst" they have ever been....

Have fun at the movies!

Desolation of Smaug. So disappointed. I'm not wasting my time with the third film.

I have not seen any of the New Hobbit films, but I thought they would be good, has Peter Jackson dropped the ball?

Opinion varies greatly from person to person.

They are self-indulgent efforts to make money and that's it. Hardly good enough to sit through, IMO.

True what you said about opinions varying, one mans rubbish is another's mans treasure.
I am a bit of a sucker for brainless blockbusters movies, so will catch the Hobbit films at some time. But most of all I like films that have a deep meaning and leave a lasting impression.

I've liked both Hobbit films so far Sad

Although I suggest, if you're planning to go watch them, that you don't go to the theater expecting a new LOTR. The Hobbit is a much more playful story, almost like a fairytale, and the movies follow along the same tracks.

I thought it was the complete opposite - that the movies weren't playful at all and that they were trying to mimic the original films in depth and seriousness. The feel is way too epic for the story they are trying to tell.

Really? Because when I saw all those goofy action scenes I just thought to myself "OK, this is definitely not LOTR..." But in spite of that I agree that the movies still have a more serious feel to them than the book ever did. But I don't mind that. I wasn't a big fan of the book anyway.
