Thanks for all the advice guys. PofA, I see what you're saying and I'm still deciding whether to tell him or not when we're both back from our respective courses, but I have a merciless conscience, so I don't know if I'll be able to keep a lid on it.

There is also a small chance of the grapevine getting the info to him when we're back, but in the meantime thats not a problem. However, it does give me motivation to tell him when I get back so he at least hears it from me if he finds out at all.
