I'm another who feels the same way - I'd want to truly get to know someone, and have a relationship based on love...then sex could come later

I guess our soulmate is out there somewhere. We just have to dive through a bunch of bad apples before we find him lol.:biggrin:

It's nice to read that some people still believe in love. I, for the most part, have always been a hopeless romantic. I do think that society in general makes it seem like you should have it sooner, and I do think it can get confusing... going on dates with someone and maybe wanting to wait more, but feeling like you should make a move to show him you're interested and wondering what he'll think if you don't. With it so easy to get everything confused, the best advice I can give is to be honest. If you have dating profiles up, say that you are looking to date a guy a while and get to know him before taking it to the next level, wanting to take it slowly. Will some guys be turned off? Sure, but did you want those guys just after a quick hook up anyway? It may take longer to find love than a hook up, but it will be very much worth it.

hello,
I wouldnt say you are over the top... To be honest sex comes and goes and nothing materialises however some people find sex on the first night a committment to them as it feels so real and natural also if no sex for 2 months it could cause a partner to get fustrated and look elsewhere
Kindest regards
