Is love lost?
#11
Aester Wrote:I would say love is lost and it isn't because of horny teenager, its more cause we put our feelings in materia and not in persons. Fast money, fast food, fast trips, fast one night sex, with no questions. As the media is controlled by the economy and the state, there is no profit with love, but there is profit in depression and enjoyment in goods. Unfortunately everything in this society is about money.

Yeah, that does make sense too!

Xandor Wrote:Blake, you are an old-fashioned romantic. There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with that. I feel the exact same way. A relationship based on sex is no relationship. Sex is just a part of the whole equation. Share. Communicate. Trust. Love. These are the things that build genuine relationships.Confusedmile:

Yeah, you would think that there are more people out there looking for that but, it seems as the years go by its hard to find someone who wants a relationship and love. Not just sex 24-7. Even guys my age I figured 26 would be the age where a lot of people are looking to kinda stop the constant sex scene and find somone to love but nope, still going at it ahahah!

I'm another who feels the same way - I'd want to truly get to know someone, and have a relationship based on love...then sex could come later

It's nice to read that some people still believe in love. I, for the most part, have always been a hopeless romantic. I do think that society in general makes it seem like you should have it sooner, and I do think it can get confusing... going on dates with someone and maybe wanting to wait more, but feeling like you should make a move to show him you're interested and wondering what he'll think if you don't. With it so easy to get everything confused, the best advice I can give is to be honest. If you have dating profiles up, say that you are looking to date a guy a while and get to know him before taking it to the next level, wanting to take it slowly. Will some guys be turned off? Sure, but did you want those guys just after a quick hook up anyway? It may take longer to find love than a hook up, but it will be very much worth it.

I just saw this on facebook and thought I'd share here. It's for girls, but I think we can change a few words and see it applies to some of us as well

I actual have been on dating websites and its ridiculous because people who are interested in you are wanting to just hook up even though my profile will say dating or looking for serious relationships. I have had guys try to talk to me where their status says looking for serious relationship but, they want to have sex right away. I'm kinda like really this gets old! LOL!!

hello,
I wouldnt say you are over the top... To be honest sex comes and goes and nothing materialises however some people find sex on the first night a committment to them as it feels so real and natural also if no sex for 2 months it could cause a partner to get fustrated and look elsewhere

Kindest regards

-the sole mate stuff is bunk
-sex is going to happen, how is this a bad thing.

you think you must have a sole mate to have a relationship your wasting your time. this person you met and or your self are likely going to change in only a moderate amount of time. at best your spouse is your best friend but most important it is someone you love. you put your interest second to the needs of the relationship.

much has been said how gay men are promiscuous. but look at the saturation with straight sex. guys, we have some catching up to do.
