After reading it I HAD to see it just to see if it could REALLY be that bad on such an epic scale (it was, yet hilarious, though I laughed AT more than with), and having seen a couple of Harry Potter movies by then it was interesting to see this possible inspiration for Hogwarts. It was also interesting to see Balk as a seemingly innocent child playing a witch (to contrast with her playing a wicked witch 10 years later in The Craft).

I loved that movie as a child (and did all I could to see it as much as possible, over and over, while still out at the cinema), and I can still enjoy it today for nostalgia value. But these were some really good questions:

One thing I like to do with fanfics is to answer the weird questions like these and I can already think of some (such as why they didn't turn the entire village into cats or make them dance, but just to be clear these reasons are my own invention rather than what I think the writers intended), though I have to admit the asking about a driver's permit might be too hard for me to answer. :tongue:

Here's a guy that is extremely popular with the ladies but not with gay men: the talented Ryan Gosling.

I saw Only God Forgives in a packed theatre in Berlin, Germany and you could feel the excitement in the audience when Gosling first appeared. One of the ladies actually cheered!
