Well my boss, my colleague named Evan and I went out for lunch together at around 1.30 pm. The rest of colleagues had appointments so they could not join us.
My boss decided to treat and pay our lunch as Evan going to resign on this Thursday. It was like a farewell lunch. We usually take turn to treat each other.
"What do you guys want to eat?" My boss asked.
"Pick the most expensive restaurant, Evan. Most expensive!" I joked.
We ended up eating our lunch in a new Japanese restaurant, which is situated in Tokyo Street. Tokyo Street is a new precinct in Pavilion shopping mall. Our office is located just across Pavilion. Tokyo Street is basically a 'mini Tokyo street' serving only Japanese retails - restaurants, markets etc.
Anyways the three of us shared a pizza and a plate of spaghetti together. I ate two slices of pizza. Holy, those slices of pizza are my first since 2005.
"I'm eating pizza for Evan!" I said to my boss.
After lunch, we stopped by at a Japanese bakery to buy breads. Then we stopped by at a Japanese Ice cream parlor.
"Fat free. Sugar free. Low calories..." I pointed out to Evan.
"Do you want it?" He asked.
"Oh, what the heck! Let's eat ice cream!." Evan treated me a strawberry ice cream and he bought himself a mango ice cream. My boss didn't want any but she did try a bit of our ice cream. Ladies and gentlemen, that ice cream was my first ice cream in what, 4 years?
"I will exercise and run like hell after work." I said to Evan and my boss.
Then we went shopping at a Japanese 5-bucks-only market. I bought a 2 feet long chewing gum. I have no idea why I bought it. I was just curious.
We returned to our office at 3 pm.
In the office, Evan and another colleague named Vincent taught me how to create balloon with chewing gum. I of course failed miserably.
I'm preparing a farewell gift for Evan right now. Evan knows that I am gay and fully support me. Then again everyone in the office knows that I am gay. Evan is straight but he likes to call me Baby in the office.
"Evan!" I called him.
"Yes, baby?" he replied.
It was weird at first but eh, I don't mind it now.
I'm going to miss this guy.
