How are you today?
Oh, as usual I'm just beautiful and gay as ever;

Tho I have to say;

Blessing my life with 'Fantastic Beasts and where to Find Them' simply only enriched my life but that much more.

To say the least, they were really trying to suck my amazement Jar dry, cause those bitches dun stick a straw in that bitch and sucked harder than a dick starved porn star named Mr. Gargle Balls;

Cause I simply contain nary an ounce left of amazement!

I finally understand the concept of something being so good, it has to be enjoyed a second time...

Such a blessing Sheep

A mess. Not even a hot mess, just a mess. I have a difficult decision to make.. Well no, I've pretty much made up my mind but I'll have to let all my family and friends know and also swallow a good dose of pride but learning from mistakes is what life's all about!

I saw Moonlight today, and all I can say...

Is; my lord....

I was literally without words from the initial start to the final end, and girl...

I saw that a few months ago. I thought it was good too. But really sad.

This is it gurl!

But I found it very intriguing; as even in the Caribbean and my island, do we not suffer in that sort of way, in regards to homosexuality I mean.

I cannot speak for every islander, especially Jamaicans;

But we typically have a very different experience than how the Americans portrayed it in that film.

Like how Masculinity is displayed and effeminacy in Males is treated.

And it was even more so eye widening, in that the gay characters in this film weren't by any means what I'd consider "feminine".

In fact, I'd venture out and say the scenario portrayed as it was, would hardly get a second look from peoples here, as it was hardly "Gay enough".

And even the economic and social struggles are different;

Like people here often look after other's kids when on de road and such, and we tend to share things, if times are ever rough.

Similar to the Cuban guy (which has nothing per se with the fact that Cuba is also an island Nation, but it could be a contributing factor) and his girlfriend.

So watching the movie, I felt very distantly removed, as I cannot relate dispite sharing similar physical features, however I could empathize very much so with the struggle of impoverished and marginalized persons as so displayed in the film, albeit from a local standpoint here.

All in all, strange, yet very well portrayed and told.

And remember;

This movie has Gay themes (albeit here and there, never overwhelmingly or overtly present);

So we never got this, as islands in general are conservative, especially mine with the most churches per capita in the world.

We somehow got Noah's Arc a few years ago, and that was a scandal, and was almost immediately relegated to the back of our local video store.

My mommy and I barely found it lol

So we don't get a lot of shit at times, due to either censorship or lack of local interest or demand.

Yeah in a lot of ways I think that movie was more about masculinity than homosexuality. It just happened to center around a gay character.

It most certainly was;

Tho it was clearly American Male Masculinity; and how it afflicts a Black and Gay impoverished boy into adolescence and adulthood.

Like I said; it's strange for an outsider like myself to witness;

So for me, it was also educational about American history and customs, especially as it relates to Black people over there.

It's no wonder it got such accolades Sheep

You don't see a lot of movies like that here in the USA either, especially when it's viewing black American male masculinity with empathy. I've never seen a movie like that before. It definitely deserves the attention it's gotten.

I'm also in love with Janelle Monae. It's good seeing her in movies now. I haven't seen Hidden Figures yet, but from the clips, she looks like she kills it in that too.

If you're interested in more of the American black experience, I'm Not Your Negro is on limited release right now, it's from the unfinished book by James Baldwin. I don't know if it's going to touch on sexuality, but it's definitely about race. It's already getting a lot of buzz and I'm looking forward to seeing it, even though I hear it's not exactly a feel good movie. He was one of those life changing authors for me.

Sounds ominous. Whatever you've decided to do, I hope it works it out for you.
