i never said Putin was the only problem. i meant it jokingly when i said we'll have world peace after he's gone, of course. but he is directly responsible for a lot of problems in the world happening right now, and that is not something you can just brush off with ''he's not the only problem''. he is a problem.

things could always be worse. we can always imagine a scenario even worse than what we have right now. still not something that excuses his current conduct.

It is very likely that any war would be fought with traditional weaponry, it is not always guaranteed that nuclear arsenals would be used. Now that more nations have the capability the likely hood of Russia going alone and destroying is with nukes is lessened by the fact that so many of the U.S's allies have nukes thus making Russia's defeat ensured, whether the Earth dies or not. Thus for the same reason that U.S invasion of Japan was not prudent in 1945 is the same reason a nuclear strike of any significant size is not prudent in 2020.
