At this point in my life I'm more concerned about being an exceptional human being , especially a great friend ..

the world population as of late was 7.277 billion (currently it's 7.280 but i made my calculations with the earlier number, which doesn't affect the percentages much).

26.3% of the world population are under the age of 15.
7.9% are over 65 years old.
there are 1.01 males for 1 female (or 101 males for 100 females).

taking all of this into account: 1.914 billion people are under 15, and 0.575 billion people are over 65 years of age.

this leaves us with 4.788 billion of possible sexual/romantic partners altogether; of which approximately 2.406 billion are males (2,405,910,448).

let's adjust this to the statistics on the prevalence of homosexuality in the population which varies from 1.5% to 5% (and even higher if you account sexual behavior and attraction to both sexes, which i won't do for simplicity's sake; the prevalence of bisexuality is quoted as .6% in addition to 1.6% for homosexuality for the lowest estimates, and NOT 1.5% for both homosexuals and bisexuals together!!; together they would thus account for 2.2%).

i accept 1.5% as the lowest estimate for male homosexuals, and 5% as the highest here.

1.5% accounts for 36 million potential gay male partners (36,088,657)
3% accounts for 72 million (72,177,313)
5% accounts for 120 million (120,295,522)

2.2% with bisexuals included at the lowest end would account for 53 million (52,930,030).

the numbers i've rounded up to are relevant and the ones in the brackets are the tiny details in case of a population of 7.277 billion, which we have surpassed now anyway.

and i didn't even account for different races, nationalities, etc; this includes guys between 15 to 65. i wouldn't include 15-year-olds (or any guy under 20) as my own potential partners, in which case the numbers fall even lower.

I guess I'll just keep it simple and say that the chances are extremely low, but don't let things like that scare you. Just move on with life and go with the flow. If you try to force something, it's going to end up blowing up in your face.

Now, I will say that it is highly unlikely that you'll meet someone on these forums that actually lives nearby you. Everyone here is from different parts of the world.

I recommend OkCupid if you're really interested in finding someone. That site is free (for the most part), and the people there are nearby and are often serious about relationships. I've used it from time to time and it's great.

I would have to agree with most of the opinions here. The chances of finding that special someone on a chat site is probably next to impossible. But hey, anything can happen!
