Orlacs Hände (or The hands of Orlac)

An Austrian 1924 silent film that revolts arround a pianist who loses his hands. A surgeon transplants him the hands of an executed killer called Vasseur. He's convinced he's changing his behaviour having angry thoughts and when Orlac's father is murdered with Vasseur's Knife he immediately thinks he did it but doesn't remember because he was given the killer's hands and now his spirit or whatever is taking control of him. The ending shows a much more logical reason behind the murder than Orlac's theory.

The film is very interesting because being silent the actor playing Orlac has to be very expressive of his turmoil, his fear of becoming a killer, just through body language, expressions.

Battle Royale. A foreign film based on my favorite book that was released in Japan. The book is better though.
