While I was in New York, I watched these movies:
The Maze Runner: Nice Young Adult flick - Vote: 6
Boyhood: Probably the ultimate coming-of-age film, still left me a bit underwhelmed - Vote: 7
Birdman: The best film of the year IMO - Vote: 9
Whiplash: An unbelievably electrifying and thrilling cinematic experience - Vote: 8
Force Majeure: A brilliant, funny depiction of a shaky marriage - Vote: 8
Gone Girl: David Fincher at (almost) his best - Vote: 7,5
Interstellar: Hugely disappointing, but great visuals - Vote: 5,5
The Judge: Lazy writing, poorly written characters - Vote: 4,5
The Imitation Game: Formulaic and predictable but with an excellent lead actor - Vote: 5,5
The Theory of Everything: Same as The Imitation Game, just slightly worse - Vote: 5
Foxcatcher: A creepy, unconventional film with three brilliant actors - Vote: 7
Nightcrawler: A compelling, dark thriller with Gyllenhall's best performance to date - Vote: 8

•
"Pride": Brilliant, funny, moving. One of the best films of the year.
"Insidious": Decent horror. Some scenes were quite disturbing, others were ridiculous or predictable. I'd give it a C+.
