Why would it be stupid to think that it was just a phase when the whole of society is generally so heterocentred...?? That's the message you got and heard, I'm sure... There is no gay role modelling that says it's alright to just be yourself when you're gay... I'm not surprised. No, I see nothing stupid about thinking that way, at that period of your life.
