Signs of your homosexuality
#21
I'm incredibly feminine, small, fragile looking. When I was little, I played with both girl and boy toys, but I always liked "pretty" things. I was always highly talented in art and music; not that straight people aren't, but I was always very sensual without being over-emotional and well, I'm not sure how to explain it. But unlike the stereotypical feminine gay male, I never liked hanging out with girls, though I always had one close female friend. I was pretty much a loner since boys saw me as an outcaste.

I also am gentle and speak softly.

People are more shocked when they see me doing things they see as stereotypically male (like martial arts) and kicking ass. It makes me smile.

This is shit. Especially... If I was in your situation I would have reacted, especially about the teacher. I would have humiliated her/him in front of the class... Elkgrin

Nope, I never displayed any obvious signs, even though class mates in high school made a couple of jokes to that effect and I must have said some things that prompted the question. My reply, always, was to put a hand firmly on the askers knee and ask in my deepest voice, my eyes firmly locked on his: how did you guess? Then they all would laugh nervously as a response and the topic was dropped.

I only came out years later....

I wish I was brave at that point. But the thought that was running on my mind during that moment was " I wish I wasn't born at all. "

At that time I was crazy, more than brave. Totally fearless about injustices.
But this kind of people deserve shit, tons of shit. The same that they have in their brains. Especially if they're supposed to be adults. Especially if they're supposed to be teachers or educators. And I think I would said also something like this, but longer and very stronger.

Actually the times I was (or one of mine friends was) in a situation like this with a teacher (even at the high&Uni), that teacher totally losses my trust and respect. And I showed that every single time I was talking to him. I wasn't wise, definitely, but this was more of what I can accept. XD LOL I had problems for this personality... XD
Today I'm at the point where I don't care about human crap. Or at least I try, but I'm weaker than the past.
Bighug to you.

Are you talking about that time all the kids were playing "heros" and I wanted to be Wonderwoman? Yeah, that time. I had the "tell the truth" lariat, the bullet shield bracelets and the invisible jet and I whooped Batman's ass for calling me queer. Laugh Then I told him if he ran home and told I'd whip his ass again in front of everyone at the bus stop. I had my privacy. Now, 38 years later, Batman comes over at least twice a month looking for something home cooked. Wavey

I am not feminine, nor am I very masculine and few are ever surprised to find out I am gay. The first five years of my life I was nearly deaf, but then had surgery to correct the problem. It created a terrible lisp, much of what I said could not be understood, that through speech therapy was very much improved, but is still somewhat there and sounds kind of "gay.". I can also be quite emotional and sometimes very expressive about it. My mother says she knew since I was very young I was gay because when playing house with neighborhood kids, I would insist on being the mother even if the other kids said one of the girls should be. I also always insisted the best-looking boy in the neighborhood played the part of the father. My mother also told me I would undress the GI Joe dolls and play that they were in bed together.

I guess it was obvious with me from the start. When I was young I was bullied in middle school for having a "high voice" and hanging around with the girls. The other boys would all be into Thundercats and Action Man, but there was me sitting in the corner with a barbie doll.

I was pretty reserved and distant throughout my late teens and early twenties, although I guess you could say I'm a little way out these days. I recently came out to a friend, and she said she always guessed due to my dress sense and mannerisms. I wouldn't say I was camp, but...er, you can just tell I'm gay.

From the day I was old enough to remember until the day that my father passed away (a few years ago) he was continually disappointed and disgusted by my preferences and a firm believer that if he berated me and humiliated me long and hard enough, I would change my ways.

Some of his complaints included....

Taste in music, tv shows, movies and idols.
Effeminate gestures.
Emotional closeness with my twin sister.
Lack of interest in sports.
Lack of interest in "manly" activities such as car repair, power tools, etc.
My choice in friends (mostly girls) and play games (ie: I didn't like "boy toys".)
My dislike for roughhousing.
The ease with which I would cry when hurt or upset.

The list is very long and extensive. That's really just the tip of the iceberg.
