Is this true of gay relationships?

axle2152 Wrote:Well hopefully that will change. I never thought it would be legalized so quickly in the US...and ironic that in the state I live in (NC) is trying to block gay couples from being married. I really don't see what their issue is with it other than THEY don't believe in it but two guys getting married doesn't really effect them. Hack back in the 50's black people couldn't use the same bathroom, I consider it to be of the same type of discrimination.

But for me, on a personal level while it isn't the popular choice, I really put forth a lot of effort into things, sometimes it is futile and with the wrong guys. I mean what is the point to be in a relationship if you're going to end up cheating and then leaving them after a few months, at that point I would think it would be better to just hook or do the whole "friends with benefits."

I might have a totally screwball point of view for not having the experience in this area, it is more of a philosophy.

Well, instead of "friends with benefits," it's more like "married with benefits." I think that is the mentality applied to it.

I don't cheat and wouldn't accept cheating on me. I also wouldn't be interested in an open relationship.
It sounds to me like lots of people accept open relationships because they don't want to lose their partner. In my way of looking at it, when the relationship is open or he cheats, you only have part of them anyway.
I'm not anybody's doormat.

I would soak his condoms in Cayenne pepper with a sprinkle of paint thinner. .
Repackage them nicely. .
and wait quietly. .

Icyhot in his undies...but that's probably not enough...I could send you some Carolina Reaper peppers...I don't think would be too pleasant.

If there is no discussion of monogamy, then the monogamy does not exist.

Period

If that's what you want in a relationship, then you need to make that clear. You need to talk about it and both agree to it. This is the same whether the relationship is straight or gay.

I always recommend to never assume and take anything for granted regarding the topic of monogamy.

TALK ABOUT THIS STUFF. If you would break up over it, it's worth discussing!

As for Pacific, you never told us what YOU want, want to do. Figure that out and take it from there.

Being gay is not for Sissies.

Speaking of my own personal relationship I would say this doesn't apply to our relationship. We have what's probably considered an "unusual" relationship and among those "unusual" things, cheating is a major offense. If I or he cheated, the whole relationship could possibly be over. It doesn't really matter if it was only one time either. I don't need people telling me how wrong that is or how we should be open and "sex is just sex". Our relationship is founded on certain principles and morals. Please don't preach to me about what yours are. We have our own, cheating is not a part of that. Sex is not just sex to us.

does your bf want the proverbial "cake and eat too?" what do you want in the relationship? if you and him no longer see eye to eye, then maybe the "writing is on the wall."

im not fond of open relationships because in the back of my mind, whomever the significant other "fools around with," by juxtaposition with him, Im also "fooling around" with those same people. #justsaying
