Cheer me up? I've messed up with someone I really like
#41
ok new update: i totally felt like cringing today thinking through everything. We've chatted a bit. We are not seeing eachother anymore but will stay in touch and left it on a really positive note. I feel good for the resolution of it, strangely less sad about it, and as the day goes on less and less stupid about my emotional overload/overanalysing etc.

So that's done... I will just give it time and it will stop hurting as well. The hurt has already slightly subsided.

Having a resolution or closure does help. I don't like leaving things "unfinished." I have the tendency to try to "fix" things when I screw up and that doesn't always go as planned, but it is good when it does. It is good that you two will stay in touch, friends are always good. Friends might seem like the "bargain bin" of relationships but that's not true, good friends are very hard to come by, arguably harder than coming across a date. Lots of people love to Netflix and chill but not many want to be a good friend. Heck, sometimes we're dropping the ball on being a good friend.

At the end of the day we are only human. To err is human.

I totally agree with all of this. I also feel like “fixing”Â things and everything feels better when there’s a resolution. I’m not great on just leaving things!

it is disappointing that it’s ended like this because she is someone who seemed so suited for me in so many ways, and who I had such lovely feelings for. But I guess we’re not suited for each other if this has turned her off; I mean obviously I went a bit off the rails, but I am an emotional person, so even if I get better at managing my emotions and impulses, there is a part of this that is just my nature... but I do love good friends, and she could totally be a good friend. Funny, I’m friends with all of my exes except one particularly horrendous one, so I’m sure it will be good to have her in my life in that way.

ah well

I am glad there is a resolution at least and things aren't left unfinished, even if it isn't quite what you hoped for. But yeah, you will probably find the reason this all happened anyway may be because you weren't quite suited, this may be why you were getting nagging feelings. At least it seems you have made a friend at least Smile

I was thinking that too, it felt like her style of showing interest wasn’t quite what I like. And learning that her communication style in general wasn’t quite fitting with mine. I really do like her though, I mean I was feeling some strong feelings. But it’s for the best I’m sure. And I think a resolution really means a lot to me not matter what the outcome is. I’m glad to have met her and made a good friend Smile

Funny how life works out... an old crush, like lots years crush got in touch with me on fb and I messaged her, and now I’ve got a date this weekend lol

So there you go!

Just let things flow naturally, try to stay calm, and don't rush things.

@"baristajedi" It is funny how life works. Sometimes things just fall into place. Just as @CellarDweller said just relax, just be in the moment and have a good time, have no expectations other than to have a good time.

Yup, I'm going to stay chill on this one. If you see me back here in a few weeks crashing into overdrive - tell me to calm the f down lol. I think i may have learned my lesson, haha, hope so!

It really is funny how life works, haha.

here's a funny story as well. So we're chatting (we chatted through the whole day lol), and she starts writing something that's a bit confusing, like repeating our conversation to me, and then she's like oops, i was telling a pal about you haha (-blush- she's as excited as me lol), and then i showed her, well i already told a couple friends about you too hahaha. our words were nearly identical, and hers described me as: someone i've been crushing on for ages... so we've both been crushing on eachother for years!!

lol

Oh yes, just re-read this thread and you'll feel silly I'm sure. Your brain will probably tell you "but this time is different!"

But that's cool that, seems you both are off to a good start. Smile
